This day started early as we had planned to make it all the way to Seattle by night to meet friends the following morning in the city. We started around 8am and were leaving with Slavee and his family, as they were headed onward to their journey too. We packed everything up for our drive and hit the road. After getting Mcdonalds for coffee and breakfast in Kalispell, we were heading south through the valleys to the Interstate. Once we reached the Interstate we headed directly West. Ashley was feeling better and seemed to be enjoying the ride. We had to head to Spokane through Couer de Lane once again.
There is a great golf course there I had always wanted to play but did not make it due to time and our schedule. Once again this was an adventure not a leisure trip. Nonetheless, the drive itself was beautiful, though we had done it before but only at night. Our first major stop was on the way to Spokane. We stopped in the city for lunch. Ashley was still unable to eat heavy foods so we decided to look for a place with soup, and turned out there was a place called Soulful Soups and Salads. We had one of the best lunches of the trip in my opinion, as the price and quality were perfect, and the type of food was exactly what Ashley needed.
The city of Spokane is actually quite unique in the middle of Washington and has allot of history to it. If we had more time we would’ve liked to spend more time exploring, but after this we had to head further west until we made it over the mountain ranges heading into Seattle.
The drive from Spokane further westward is an expansive view of mountain ranges, valleys, and farmland, that is absolutely gorgeous!
As dusk approached, we found a great camping spot for the night around Snoqualmie Pass and cooked dinner near the river where we parked. The tent and fire were nice in the gloomy Washington weather. This was overall an uneventful day but we were In prime position for the next few days ahead of us.
